Strive for 85!

Can you get your Canvas Ally score to 85% or above? Sure you can!

Strive for 85 logoAre your courses accessible? What are your Canvas Ally scores? Can you reach or exceed 85%?

From October 26, 2026 until April 26, 2027 (the ADA Title II implementation deadline), we want to see those Ally scores improve!

Check your Canvas course Ally Accessibility Report to see where your classes stand, and fix a little bit at a time. Start with the quick-and-easy bits, or start with the higher-scoring stuff, and see how high you can push your score.

Stuck? Don’t understand something? Reach out to your department’s Accessibility Liaison for help. You’ll learn something new, and every little bit makes a difference!

Faculty may submit courses for review starting on October 26, 2026. Once the score is verified, you’ll get:

  • A fancy certificate of recognition and congratulations!
  • Recognition in the Accessibility Advocate newsletter! (Optional!)
  • The envy of your peers!
  • The knowledge that your students benefit from the work!

Submit your course for review here!

The fine print

All faculty (tenure/tenure track, lecturers, and adjuncts) are eligible to participate.

Courses must have at least 20 pieces of content as categorized by Ally. Ally’s categories are:

  • Page
  • Image
  • PDF document
  • Word document
  • Assignment
  • Presentation
  • Quiz
  • Discussion topic
  • Announcement
  • Other

Course review is solely to verify the current Ally accessibility score. We are not examining courses to identify what needs to be updated.

Faculty may re-submit a class that has already been verified (for instance, a class that is taught across multiple quarters where updates have been made from one quarter to the next); however, there must have been an Ally score increase of 5% or more to get recognized again for the same class.

Recognition in the Accessibility Advocate is optional and on an opt-in basis.
